Police pursuit resulted with one dead in Massapequa

Last night around 9pm, a male was ordered to stop the vehicle in Queens near the Belt Parkway but refused. Then a pursuit started with NYPD vehicles following the suspect. Shortly, both NYPD vehicles were rammed by the suspect and then took off toward Nassau County. The NYPD alerted NCPD and the vehicle was tracked to Merrick Avenue by 10pm.

The NCPD blocked all lanes but the suspect eventually rammed the vehicles causing injuries to cops getting away.

Shortly the vehicle was followed toward the Sunrise Highway in Massapequa Park. The vehicle was stopped by 7-Eleven near Hicksville Road by 11pm. According to the Police Commissioner, the suspect exited the vehicle and did not comply with police order.

The Commissioner quotes,

"There was a shooting that occurred and that individual died."

8 Nassau County cops, 2 NYPD cops and a civilian were injured in this result.

The NYS Attorney General is investigating the incident as a standard procedure in cooperating with the NYPD and NCPD.
