Police investigation at the mall in Westbury

The NCPD were patrolling the mall in Westbury late night when a vehicle refused to stop. A pursuit followed and then shots fired. Further investigation reported this was a call for burglary at one of the store.

It happened after 3am in the parking lot The vehicle was stopped on Old Country Road near Glen Cove Road. This is where multiple shots fired involving the police and suspects. One of the suspect aimed gun at cops and then then the officer returned fire.

Old Country Road was closed for investigation after bullets and shell casings found. Both officers were taken to local hospitals for trauma and released.

Police are searching for the second suspect.
