Pilot program for auto vehicles to expand outside NYC

Autonomous vehicles will expand outside NYC as part of the next pilot program as per NY Governor during today's announcement.

This is the next wave technology like that movie Total Recall where robots run vehicles.

The biggest one to watch for is Tesla's Robotaxi which is already in major cities nationwide along with other companies. Part of the program will be monitored by the NYS police and the DMV focusing on safety standards. A new legislation will be announced by the Governor to launch the first stage for commercial use and then expand to NYC after meeting all the safety requirements.

Soon NYC roads will be all robots powered delivery vehicles not just for packages but also for humans from place to place at the comfort of a phone app.

Currently the two major players, Tesla and Waymo are still in the early stage of data collection in NY. Data collection is a typical first step toward launching driverless ride-hailing services.
