Pedestrian struck by vehicle died in Plainview

The NCPD is investigating a fatal vehicular accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 1:30 am in Freeport.

According to police, a male, 18, was operating a 2015 Subaru eastbound on Mill Road and struck a male, 40, in the vicinity of Hanse Avenue. The male suffered severe trauma and was pronounced at the scene.

The driver remained at scene. The vehicle was impounded.

The investigation is ongoing.
