Pedestrian killed in North Amityville motor vehicle crash

Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in North Amityville this morning.

John Barrow was driving a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe southbound on Route 110 when his vehicle struck a pedestrian in the roadway in front of 720 Route 110 at approximately 4:55 a.m.

The pedestrian, a 59-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Barrow, 50, of North Babylon, was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
