Over one million subway riders to see a new route with F and M

Starting next Monday, December 8, F and M lines will be swapped their routes between Queens and Manhattan permanently on weekdays involving 8 stations.

E trains will replace M trains at the following stations - 5 Avenue/53rd Street, Lexington Avenue/53rd Street, Court Square 0 23rd Street and Queens Plaza.

M trains will replace F trains at 57th Street, Lexington Avenue/63rd Street, Roosevelt Island and 21st Queensbridge.

According to MTA, this will reduce congestion and delays on the E,F,M and R lines with more reliable and faster services.

This change will affect over 1.2 million riders so be prepared for the new route next week.
