Outdoor dining will be permanent in NYC

The NYC mayor stated today all outdoor dining will be permanent and year around. For the guideline, restaurants can add tent like enclosure with heaters. However, the setup is same as indoor dining with 25% capacity. Without enclosure, there are no restrictions to capacity. Another advantage is restaurants can expand into neighboring business's area including parking spots if agrees. The mayor did not give press brief but on the radio with Brian Lehrer. Propane and natural gas heaters can be used on the sidewalk only but electric can be used for both sidewalk and parking spots if setup is used. FDNY must approve the use of propane tanks.
