One of the largest events in Queens is on schedule

June 7 at 12pm, Queens will witness one of the largest events with a parade in Jackson Heights. This is Queens Pride now it's 35th year with the largest membership base second to Manhattan and it will be held at 37th Road and 75th Street.

From their statement - Since 1993, Queens Pride continues to promote the visibility and accomplishments of the LGBT community and to foster acceptance by the many cultures and religions represented in our borough.

This is the first time the event will have two grand marshals. One of the current FDNY Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore and the other is Dr. Sundeep Singh Boparai who is a well known activist. Also, this is the second largest parade in Queens after the Memorial Day parade at Little Neck. Traffic will be heavy in Jackson Heights and all are advised to use public transportation.

The organization is seeking volunteers and sponsors.

The NYC Mayor and NY Governor are both expected to attend the event with their boss, Congress member Alexandria Ocasio Cortez.

As for Long Island, the parade is on June 14 in Huntington Village.

Both events are open to the public.
