One long weekend with fire updates in Nassau County

The NCPD reported two major fires in Nassau County. Before that on October 18, a major fire broke out in a home in Levittown around 11:45pm in the vicinity of Chase Lane and Stone Lane near the Wantagh State Parkway. That same day around 3pm, a basement fire at Merrick reported a dead body inside. The medical examiner transported the body to conduct an autopsy.

The major fire broke out in Oceanside also on the 18th around 5:40pm. This is in the vicinity of Long Beach Road at the unit, 3344.

The fire extended to other retail locations with more than 200 firefighters working on the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation for all incidents.
