One long night has Whitestone residents in anger

The NYPD were called to Whitestone after midnight of a car fire in the vicinity of 141st Street near 10th Avenue. Local residents say this was a car meet who are not from the area of a drag racing. According to the local council member Vickie Paladino, a private security guard was assaulted along with another homeowner during the confrontation. Also, the security guard's vehicle was set on fire with fireworks thrown directly where Paladino spoke from her social media.

The NYPD says the investigation is underway after license plates recorded from the scene matched people of interest and police presence increased in the area tonight onward.

The investigation continues.
