One dead after car crash in Port Washington

The NCPD reported a fiery car crash in Port Washington with one dead. The incident was reported around 3am in the vicinity of W Shore Road and Seaview Boulevard.

Calls came in for a fire and then further investigation confirmed a vehicle was engulfed in flames when emergency personnel arrived on the scene. The vehicle was found in the woods with the driver inside. EMS declared the driver dead on the scene and the medical examiner transported the body to conduct an autopsy.

ESU is working on the scene.

As of now the roadway is open for resumed traffic.

The investigation continues.
