One community fought and won in NYC

A group of community activists and residents sued NYC mayor's plan to have a small jail in Chinatown was stopped by the judge. The planned location at 125 White Street in Manhattan will be on hold unless the mayor appeals. This is one of the small jail planned after Rikers Island closure to have people arrested on hold until arraignment. The residents after winning the lawsuit is awaiting for the mayor's next move. They stated instead of running way, they fought and won by standing together. As for Kew Gardens, so far no update on the lawsuit after homeowners sued the city.
