Once a relaxing place now gone in Queens

The NYPD reported strong arm robberies inside local public parks targeting people who are sitting alone or easy to prey victims.

The latest incident was reported at Captain Tilly Park on Jamaica Avenue near Parsons Blvd in Jamaica. The incident was reported on Thursday afternoon. Police described the suspects as five males wearing covering with two displayed weapons.

The most incidents reported in Corona followed by Jackson Heights. All incidents targeting victims who were relaxing when the suspects approached out of nowhere. Most of the incidents occurred at Louis Armstrong Park.

According to local residents, the open street on 34th Avenue is not safe overnight with less police patrol reporting strong arm robberies.

Locals are advised to stay alert.
