Northeast Queen s first Indian grocery closed

What started out at the corner of Braddock Avenue and 222nd Street in Queens Village in the 70's as the first Asian Indian grocery for residents of northeast Queens is now closed. The business survived multiple ownership and was a local center for customers from Queens to Long Island when there were none except in Flushing and Jackson Heights. The business couldn't sustain with new stores selling the same products in the neighborhood which are multiplying by dozens on regular basis. The other location was East 28th Street and Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. For many old timers, its sad to see it go.
