Next on fossil fuel update from the NY Governor

After the new pipeline, the next announcement came from the Governor's office.

The bill signed by the NY Governor, All Electric Buildings Act in 2023 will not move forward starting January 1, 2026.

It will be delayed in court after a new filing in the Second Circuit US Court of Appeals pending a new outcome.

The bill would ban gas lines in new construction buildings consisting of seven stories or less and then all buildings starting 2029.

The lawsuit was filed by fossil fuel groups with support from appliance and construction sectors two years ago which continue to drag in court despite the Governor signing it.

Also, there is not enough time to support the new buildings if construction is completed faster than the grid.

Stay tuned for more announcements on utilities from your Governor. Just remember fossil fuel will remain in NY for a long time.
