Newly renovated home fire in Hollis Hills

The FDNY reported a fire at a home in Hollis Hills. This is on 211 Street and Union Turnpike behind the local temple.

Neighbors say this is a newly renovated home, shocked to learn of the fire. The fire started around 1pm and was brought under control by 1:30pm when it started on the roof and extended to the first floor.

EMS reported no major injuries.

Also around 8am, FDNY reported a brush fire on Jackie Robinson Parkway by Cypress Hills.

The cause of fire is under investigation at both incidents.
