New shopping mall approved at current Sears location

On the corner of Hillside Avenue and Braddock Avenue shopping center where one of the store, Sears auto, hardware and appliance store is located received approval to build a retail shopping center from the Community Board 13. The owner of shopping center, DERP Associates that rent to Sears and other stores are waiting for Sears to close so they can start the work to house larger retail stores such as TJ Maxx or Walmart. The vote was passed by 29-1 from the committee's land use division under the chairman Richard Hellenbrecht. Also at the meeting, Hellenbrecht is talking to retail outlets to setup in other areas approved for such land use.
