New York State Police investigate a stabbing in Sodus

On August 6, 2026, at approximately 8:10 p.m., New York State Police responded to the Subway parking lot at 40 W Main St. in the village of Sodus for reported stabbing.

The investigation determined that two 17 year-old males, who have a history of altercations, became involved in a physical confrontation in the parking lot. During the altercation one male sustained a stab wound to the abdomen.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment and is currently listed in stable condition.

The 17 year-old suspect was identified and returned to the scene by his parents after they learn police were looking for him. The suspect and his parents are cooperating with investigators.

The investigation remains active. Due to the age of those involved, no further identifying information will be released at this time.
