New York State Police arrest a corning man on menacing and weapons charges

The New York State Police in SP Painted Post arrested a Corning man following an investigation into a reported menacing incident in the town of Lindley.

 On June 2, 2026, at approximately 2:13 p.m., State Police from SP Painted Post responded to River Road in Lindley for a report of a dispute involving a weapon.

 The investigation determined that a verbal altercation occurred between family members. During the incident, the suspect allegedly displayed a hammer and threatened the victim, causing the victim to fear physical injury. Troopers recovered a metal hammer from the property and secured it as evidence.

 As a result of the investigation, Calyx Angelo Estep, 28, of Corning, NY, was arrested and charged with:

Menacing 2nd degree (A misdemeanor)

Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree – Previous Conviction (D felony)
