NYPD resources must be conserved for two major events in NYC

The NYC Mayor announced the event, America 250 Times Square ball drop set for July 3 to kick off July 4th celebrations will now be open to the public. To gain access, one must buy a ticket and it's first come first served when available to the public with an announcement. The Times Square ball will drop eight times on July 3 close to midnight.

The next one is FIFA World Cup gathering which is not allowed on a large scale in NYC in public parks and outdoors from June 11 to July 19.

The real reason is to save NYPD resources for something else only the Mayor's cahoots knows where the money will go.

With overtime for NYPD chopped and grilled, more services are heading to downsize as part of defund since the city doesn't need many cops due to a safe city where all are happy walking around. The NY Governor is also on board with the emergency order signed by the Mayor.

Also, if you are a victim of crime, the city will take care of you with vouchers and more public benefits funded by taxpayers. The best solution to crimes is taxpayer funded programs and not jails with love, dignity and compassion. The more money drains from taxpayers, the more control for the government to enjoy their happiness.
