NYPD loss at Bear Mountain Bridge

This morning around 11am, Rockland County police reported a male jumped from the Bear Mountain Bridge upstate. Several locals convinced the male not to jump. Police arrived shortly unable to locate the male in the water. By early evening, divers and rescue boats reported the recovery stage was complete.

Further investigation reported this was an off duty NYPD officer.

The officer was assigned to the 44th Precinct in 2021.

The Mayor's Office reported all can call 988 and speak with a live person anytime around the clock for 24/7 help.
