NYC has no place for good samaritans involving crimes

After the high rise of hate crimes on in NYC, legal experts explained why no one wants to help. As of January 1, anyone who made 911 calls, witnessed a crime, helped a victim of crime or anything involved, personal information must be disclosed to the suspect and their lawyer after the arrest. The law mandates that prosecutors hand over the contact information of victims and witnesses to criminal defendants within 15 days of arraignment. Even if the witness wants to remain anonymous or gives false information to protect their identity, all will have to reveal the tipster's identity. The local politicians who supported the new reform are not responding why nothing is happening after attacks after attacks. Some of the politicians stated NY is a Democrat state so people will understand by working in communities to do the work of uniting and reporting as part of their promotion. According to the Queens DA’s office, victims were sued by the suspects after arrests and many regretted their decision while others said it was the right thing to do.
