Murder suicide investigation in Oakland Gardens

On New Year's Day, neighbors around a cooperative apartments woke to heavy police presence in Oakland Gardens reporting a murder suicide. The incident occurred in the vicinity of Bell Blvd and 73rd Avenue.
Local neighbors say a couple was found inside the apartment unresponsive and EMS later declared dead. The medical examiner transported the body to conduct autopsies.
Police did not disclose additional details due to the ongoing investigation. As of now, the investigation continues and it's up to the Queens DA's office to issue a press statement if available.
