Motorcyclist killed in motor vehicle crash in Elwood Long Island

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a motorcyclist in Elwood last night. Lavell Jones was riding a 2021 Kawasaki westbound on Jericho Turnpike, east of Elwood Road, when he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a pole at 9:53 p.m. Jones, 43, of East Northport, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
