Mother and daughter hit by a car in Maspeth

Police say a mother and daughter were attempting to cross 74th Street in Maspeth when they were hit by a man driving a Dodge Durango SUV Sunday afternoon around 1:15pm. The driver remained at the scene and is not charged at this time. Records show the vehicle has had a number of school zone speed camera violations over the last few years. The girl and her mother were taken to the hospital and they are expected to recover from their injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
