More details released on the phone police at NY schools

Schools going back to the old ways without students having phones in classes.

Starting this fall, the NY schools will not allow phones and other electronic devices with internet including smartwatches in schools during day time.

Each school will guide students where to store their phones with lockers contracted with a key.

As for emergencies, students can call their parents through the main line. The exceptions are students may use devices when required for medical reasons, specific learning needs, Individual Education Programs (IEPs), 504 plans, and similar reasons.

As for enforcement, the schools will treat students with love, care and compassion by explaining that education is much more important than phones which will be tough in NYC so clear progressive steps will be taken if overwhelmed. For that, a bill needs to be introduced by the City Council, Assembly or Senate and most are afraid to do so.

It's a wait and watch next year with kids mostly rebellious and rarely listening to parents.
