Mini mini sprouting up around Queens towers

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held in Flushing where the first two apartments at Willets Point are now all ready as part of the affordable housing project. This is a 100% affordable housing project as part of the Queens Development Group, a joint venture involving Sterling Equities and Related Companies that developed the towers in partnership with the NYC Housing Development, Housing Preservation and Development and the NYC Economic Development. The housing lottery is closed as of February this year and now the city is working to place qualified tenants based on the income. 880 new apartments across CitiField, the new soccer stadium and the casino. One bedroom starts around $2,000 to $2,500 based on the number of households and AMI.

The NYC Mayor stated around 3,000 apartments will be set up in this area along with a new school and a hotel. The NY Governor is reviewing a new plan to make easy connections to the local airport instead of the usual traffic.

Coming to mini mini, the city is buying homes and buildings around affordable housing to make gardens and parks around.

There will be a public hearing on June 3rd the city is buying 47 locations in western Queens to make mini mini parks around towers and the view of the water and Manhattan. The next event is bike lanes to reduce car traffic around Roosevelt Avenue, Northern Blvd to Main Street to make Flushing the next Manhattan.

Gone are the residential homes and hello to Babylon Towers.
