Mayor di Blasio reported crime is down in NYC but rape is high

Homicide, robberies, shootings are down in NYC according to Mayor di Blasio reported in a press statement today.

NYC recorded 287 homicide, that's 5 less than 2017 resulting 2% drop. 894 shootings, 39 less than 2017 with 4% drop, 12,856 robberies of all kinds against victims, 1,100 less than 2017 showing 8%.

NYC is the safest city in the world according to the mayor. Meanwhile sorry to the 12,856 victims of robberies and RIP to the 287 dead from homicide.

As for what is high, rape is up 22% and NYPD advises women to be cautious and not walk alone.
