Mayor di Blasio announced four locations for jails

Queens Blvd and Union Turnpike commuters, get ready! On Wednesday, February 14, Mayor di Blasio announced four locations for new jails. They are the following, Manhattan Detention Center, 125 White Street, Brooklyn Detention Center, 275 Atlantic Avenue, Queens Detention Center, 126-01 82nd Avenue, Kew Gardens and NYPD Tow Pound, 320 Concord Avenue, Bronx. The Mayor's office confirmed of the state, Governor's office is not supporting the plan regarding Creedmoor unless safety issues are in place based on the evaluation of the first few years but open for discussion. The plan is to close Rikers Island in 10 years and establish small jails all over NYC.
