Mayheim in Midtown Manhattan

Active shooter located.

Tourists, protestors, civilians and all kinds of people in Midtown Manhattan evacuated after a suspect armed with a rifle entered a building and started shooting.

One police officer shot and multiple civilians also shot.

The location is 345 Park Avenue.

Police described the suspect as male, Middle Eastern armed with a body vest working to locate inside the building from surveillance camera released walking with a rifle toward inside.

Police say many are innocent civilians leaving their jobs for home when the incident occurred around 6:30pm.

Heavy rescue operation on the scene with ESU, SWAT, TARU, FDNY, EMS and FBI.

Ongoing investigation.

Update - The suspect died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds in the 33rd floor.
