Massena female arrested for forgery 2nd and grand larceny 3rd

On March 25, 2025, members of the State Police arrested Michelle L. Trombly, 41, of Massena, NY, on charges of Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree and Forgery in the 2nd degree.

On March 6, 2025, at approximately 12:15 p.m., when the New York State Department of Financial Services notified State Police that Trombly was stealing money from the New York State Insurance Fund. It was discovered that Trombly had been receiving checks from a deceased family member issued by the New York State Department of Financial Services. She forged the name of the deceased family member on these checks and cashed them.
