Manhunt for a hit and run suspect in Rego Park

The NYPD is searching for a suspect wanted for hit and run in Rego Park. The incident was reported last Sunday around 6:18pm in the vicinity of Alderton Street near 63rd Road. A witness told police the victim was getting into the vehicle when a Mitsubishi, white model SUV slammed toward and then allegedly took off after running over the victim.

EMS transported the victim to a local hospital remains in critical condition.

Volunteers and local residents in the area are helping the victim's family as well as searching for more evidence. Also, the local residents believe this was a hate crime targeting a member of the community.

So far no arrests.
