The Suffolk County Street Takeover Task Force is on full alert since the holidays mainly on the Long Island Expressway.

The latest incident was on January 3 around 9pm on the LIE eastbound near Exit 58 when the task force pulled over two vehicles for speeding over 100mph in a 2024 Mercedes Benz sedans.

Both drivers, males, 24 of Long Island were ordered to pull over after being seen weaving through traffic to safely to the shoulder side.

Both were issued summons for reckless driving, illegal speed contest and other charges along with vehicles seized. A court date was issued and it's up to the judge to decide what to do with the vehicles and charges.

The new task force was launched in November 2024 and since then issued over 300 summons and seized plenty of vehicles.
