Malone male arrested for arson 5 criminal contempt 1st and criminal mischief 3rd

On October 15, 2025, members of the New York State Police arrested Adam G. Richardson, age 37, from Malone, NY, on charges of arson in the fifth degree, first-degree criminal contempt, and third-degree criminal mischief.

At approximately 10:33 a.m. on the same day, Troopers responded to a report of criminal mischief on Lovers Lane Road in the town of Malone. Their investigation revealed that Richardson had contacted the victim, in violation of an existing order of protection that prohibited such contact. Additionally, he intentionally took items from the victim and set them on fire near the victim's residence.

A New York State Environmental Conservation Officer also arrived at the scene to confirm the nature of the items being burned, which included clothing, household items, and plastic.

Richardson received a citation from the DEC officer and was subsequently arrested by the Troopers.
