Male dead from fatal vehicle fire in Roosevelt

NCPD have closed off Hudson Avenue near the the Roosevelt public library reporting a male died from vehicle fire. The entire block have hold for residents from going in or out due to homicide investigation. The fire marshal is also investigating at the scene. Firefighters are working to bring the fire under control.

Update - According to detectives, while traveling westbound in a 2020 Toyota Rav4 on Hudson Avenue, between Elysian Terrace and N. Long Beach Avenue, an unidentified female operator left the roadway and struck a tree. As a result of the collision her car became fully engulfed in flames. The Roosevelt Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. The female operator, who was found inside the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
