Male arrested for robbery in Uniondale

The NCPD reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for an incident that occurred in Uniondale on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 4:50 pm.

According to Detectives, a male victim, 56, was at his Duryea Avenue residence with a female subject who is known to him.  The female subject then left the victims residence and called a male subject to notify him that she was leaving the home.  At this time, the male subject arrived at the victim’s house with another male, who was also known to the victim.  The two male subjects then forcibly entered the Duryea Avenue residence.  Once inside the residence, one male suspect began to strangle the victim, while the other male suspect quickly went upstairs to grab a lockbox containing US Currency and a Ka-Bar knife.  Both males fled the scene on foot and the victim called police.

Officers responded and after an investigation, they located Defendant Ervin Morrison, 58, of 675 New Street and placed him into custody for the above listed crimes without further incident. The second male and female subject, have not yet been apprehended. 

While in police custody, a further investigation revealed the defendant to be in possession of what is believed to be heroin.

 The victim suffered bruising on his neck and refused medical attention at the scene.

The Defendant Ervin Morrison has been charged with Robbery 3rd Degree, two (2) counts of Robbery 2nd Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.  He will be arraigned Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
