Madrid male arrested for CPW 4th CPW 3 previous conviction and menacing 2nd

On December 25, 2024, State Police members arrested Peter J. Caughey, age 68, of Madrid, NY, for criminal possession of a weapon 4, criminal possession of a weapon 3rd-preivous conviction, and menacing 2nd.

On December 25, 2024, at approximately 12:14 p.m., Troopers responded to State Route 345 in the town of Madrid for a menacing complaint.  An investigation determined Caughey brandished a knife, approached the victim, and was stating threatening remarks.

Caughey was arrested and transported to SP Canton for processing.
