MTA announced a new love message for all

New York's sweet baby, the MTA has announced fare hikes all set for January 2026 while the MetroCards are being phased out.

The NY government doesn't like private vehicles so get ready for tolls higher than expected for some of the bridges. The new toll proposed is $7.46 from the current $6.94.

The bus and subway will be raised by 10 cents to $3 even for a single ride.

The MTA will vote on this next month pending approval set to go live on January 4, 2026.

The MTA is still facing a financial crunch in need of $100 billion for repairs and renovations along with higher salaries, perks, world travel and so much more.

The NY Governor has not responded to the MTA's decision but does it matter since the latter controls the state.

Coming to fare evasion where the MTA is expected to lose almost $1 billion dollars, that's $1,000 million annually, enforcement involves more budget.

After all, $1 billion is nothing for anything in NY.
