Love always wins over money so help out

With new migrants arriving in NYC over the weekend, the Mayor is still working to find more locations to house them. In the meantime, nonprofits are reaching out to volunteers to house them in their own places. No monetary compensation but love is guaranteed except no insurance when items go missing. Several volunteers complained that some of the items went missing from their homes after reaching out to the city. The Mayor’s Office doesn’t have a reimbursement plan for this as of now but will look into it.

Meanwhile, local elected officials from the State Senate, Assembly to City Council who are on the progessive socialist side are in Europe to review the housing models and how NYC can help transition the migrants into permanent housing. The trips also cover costs for nonprofit groups who are working on the plan.

Coming back to the Mayor, volunteers are welcome to visit Randall’s Island to take migrants into their homes. Again, no compensation from the city but love is above money. The nonprofit groups in collaboration with the city can’t issue reimbursements without authorization.
