Long time view may change in Fresh Meadows

The office building lot, 175-05 Horace Harding Expressway may soon be gone to make way for a 6 and 7 story tower from the current 3 zone. The location owned by the local university, St. John's, which is also into real estate around Fresh Meadows has filed with the city for permits according to Zoning Application Portal.

The Land Use Application was filed on May 9, 2025 to facilitate a new 330,000 square feet mixed lot with residential, community facility and commercial. Under the affordable housing, a total of 324 units with 81 set aside for low income.

The next step is the usual with the community board, Queens Borough President, local residents and neighbors alike, city council and etc approval step by step which will take years and years.

Lately, Fresh Meadows is on a real estate expansion spree where homes are now in big demand to sell over million bucks easily.

If demotion permits are approved, locals will be sad to witness the long time standing is gone to memory.
