Long Island couple found dead inside a home

The SCPD report a murder suicide that occurred in Port Jefferson on Monday morning around 11am at a home on Oakwood Road. The female victim failed to appear at her job and a call came in at the home for a welfare check. When police arrived, they discovered two residents of the home dead with apparent gunshot wounds.

The medical examiner transported both bodies to conduct autopsies. One is a male, 68 and the other is a female, 63.

Police are continuing with the investigation.
