Local fire updates in Whitestone and Floral Park

FDNY reported a fire at a home in Floral Park. This is a private dwelling on 86th Avenue near 257 Street. The fire started on the first floor around 3:30am and was brought under control by 4:30am.

EMS transported the injured to local hospitals.

In Whitestone, a fire broke out of a home from the basement. This is on 13th Avenue near 145th Street around midnight.

By 1am, the fire was brought under control.

The fire marshal is investigating both incidents as to what caused the fire.
