LIRR at the new Belmont station will be fully accessible by 2023

The new home of NY Islanders will have a new LIRR station by 2021 with partial access for game goers from Long Island to Elmont. The full access willbe ready by 2023 with trains traveling in both directions every hour during off peak hours and half hour for on peak hours. Additionally, electric buses will be standing by for commuters of LIRR for the arena instead of walking. This is part of the $1.3 billion proposed Belmont Park. The new station allows riders to directly go to Belmont from the east instead of exiting at Jamaica and going back to Belmont, which riders currently have to do.
