Key bill not in favor of Mets Owner in Corona

One of the legislators needed to pass the bill for a casino in Corona next to the CitiField has been knocked down by a local state Assembly member.

Now the Mets owner is surely disappointed after Jessica Ramos' decision. Beside the casino, there are plans for a hotel, restaurants, and park for the public which Ramos supports. All others including the Queens Borough President supports the casino.

The project, Metropolitan Park, still has a long way to go. According to the project spokesperson, stated,

“We have over a year and multiple pathways to secure the required approvals. Our team remains committed to bringing Metropolitan Park to life, with gaming as the only viable economic engine to make the 23,000 jobs, $8 billion investment and substantial community benefits possible.”

The governor has the final say based on the approvals pending decisions by the majority.

Ramos blocked BID expansion on Roosevelt Avenue as well as stopping Amazon and Targets opening up their largest location in Queens under the guidance of socialist Alexandria Ocasio Cortez.
