Judge granted preliminary injunction against a hotel in Jericho from converting into homeless shelter

A judge gave decision to grant a preliminary injunction against plans to convert the former Hampton Inn in Jericho into a homeless shelter. The group, Members of the Concerned Jericho Parents stated, "We would be open to homeless residing in Jericho as long as the plan made sense. County Executive Laura Curran should?ve thought better to put a homeless shelter where zoning violations have occurred."

The zoning laws and proper permits were not in place. Nassau County Executive's office will ask the state to intervene with permits in place.
