Its only 45 minutes of waiting to go home in Forest Hills

The NYPD arrived at Metropolitan Avenue and Union Turnpike around 3pm this afternoon to reroute a tractor trailer that was paused from heading to the Jackie Robinson Parkway Brooklyn bound. Local residents have complained to the community board and slew 311 calls to add signs big enough to read but fell on deaf ears.

According to the NYC Dept of Transportation, visible signs are posted but within the specific size legible for all to see.

Locals waited over 45 minutes sitting idle inside their vehicles in the vicinity while NYPD crew worked to remove the tractor trailer.

Two ambulances were on the scene to check on seniors but found to be ok. By 4pm, traffic started moving and all grinned heading home.

The JRP has reported the most incidents involving trucks from struck the over/under pass, unauthorized entry, and other traffic delays.

As of now, locals will have to deal with it unless NYC Council can draft a new plan to resolve the issue.
