It s only 1 4 of the workforce in NYC

The NYC mayor reported around 1/4 of the public employees will be put on leave due to non-vaxxy. This includes NYPD, FDNY, etc. The mayor stated since announcing the mandate there has been an uptick with personnel getting the vaxx except first responders and healthcare workers. The biggest affection will be on the NYPD showing over 20,000 officers and service members are unvaxxed. 45% of FDNY are not vaxxed. The deadline is October 29 by 5pm or leave without paycheck. Unions have already filed lawsuits but both commissioners of FDNY and NYPD support the mandate. For the Dept of Corrections, the deadline is December 1. The mayor stated overtime will play a crucial role replacing the 1 million non-vaxxed workers if they don't comply by the deadline.
