Humans first infrastructure last for classic flood zones in NYC

Millions is nothing, billions is not good anymore, hello trillions.

After the flood last night, there were over 11,000 calls of complaints from basement to road flooding in NYC. The previous Mayor said with love to all to remove debris from the sewer lines to prevent clogs.

The current Mayor has not issued a statement as of yet.

Overall, Queens has the most classic flood zones where homeowners are based and it's not a priority compared to buildings with tenants. As of now, the priorities are more bike lanes, road diets and day lighting followed by diner sheds and the favorite one is taxpayer funds for social welfare programs.

According to the NYC Dept of Environmental Protection, a budget of $31 billion is required to clear the storm drains to prevent flooding for Queens alone. New outer discharge tunnels must be created to prevent flooding in NYC. The Mayor's office confirmed the NYC flood system has not been maintained since then Mayor DeBlasio which is long overdue.

Flood zones in Queens reported an average of 6.35 inches in 2 to 3 hours according to New York State Mesonet data. with flash flooding, submerged vehicles, street closures including highways and transit suspensions including the F line.

So in reality, this isn't the climate issue but the negligence of the elites who, for years, have preferred to squander taxpayer funds rather than maintain the sewers and infrastructure.

A civilian took to social media of a submerged vehicle by the Kew Gardens Interchange that cost almost $1 billion to have a nice traffic flow without any issues but oh well.
