Hudson man arrested for possessing sexual performance by a child

On March 24, 2026, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Livingston, with assistance from the Troop K Computer Crime Unit and the Columbia County Probation Department, announced the arrest of Joseph Benvenuto, 36, of Hudson, New York.

Benvenuto was charged with Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child less than 16, a class E felony.

He is accused of possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation. The arrest followed an investigation that included the execution of a search warrant on his electronic devices.

Benvenuto was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Greenport Court on April 20, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
