Homicide investigation continue in Suffolk County

Yesterday calls came in for a dead body found in Bay Shore in the afternoon outside near a home. The SCPD has closed the area since then. Today, detectives started the investigation with evidence search. This is when a Suffolk County cop was shot while serving a warrant for search in the same premise. Cops managed to apprehend the suspect and was taken into custody.

Police didn't say the round of shots was aimed or ricochet striking the officer in the face.

EMS transported the officer to a local hospital now in stable condition. Charges are pending for the suspect with arraignment scheduled tomorrow.

Neighbors on New York Avenue were shocked by the incident and some say both the suspect and the dead victim knew each other.

The investigation continues.
